OVERVIEW
‘SMACK' as it is popularly known, ranks first among its equals. Founded in 1906 by the Brothers of Christian Instruction, with Roman Catholic roots, the school celebrated its centenary in 2006. Rivaled only by Kings College Buddo it has consistently produced well-balanced individuals in every professional discipline in the Arts, the Sciences, Business and Politics. launch in the deep has been a guiding motto that has resulted in the excellence of students, not only in performance at National Examination level but also in the various fields in which SMACK alumni are working, around the world. Founded by Catholic Church after the Catholic Chiefs who under the leadership of Stanislas Mugwanya raised the question of higher education for Catholic youths at the beginning of 1899, and their request was laid for consideration by the August Assembly of the White Fathers' General Chapter at Algiers in 1900, and was duly. Established in 1906, St Mary's College Kisubi is a boys' only, boarding school with an enrollment of 954 students.

The school realizes that exposure to competition, instilling into students a reading culture and maximizing textbooks use is good for academic excellence. St. Mary's College Kisubi attracts hundreds of students for senior one and senior five because it provides what a discerning student is looking for: A good learning environment, academic success, quality teaching and value for money fees.
The school has created a reputation for academic excellence over decades. National examination results illustrate this. The school has a culture of very serious academic work characterized by effective teaching, regular tests, student discussions, debates, assignments and seminars. Facilities
The School boasts a Library that can seat 150, forty computers with full time internet access, six science laboratories, and a school farm Students also have access to foreign language training in French and German which are compulsory for the first two years.

The school bursar
The School Bursar Mr. Gerald Akwehaire is a friendly person who interacts with all students, as he has to know the financial status of their fees accounts with the school. Below the Bursar is the School Accountant Winfred Nabukera.
The School Bursar handles cash transactions relating to the various school departments; say when there are funds needed for students' outing for a function.

He prepares and effects approved and authorized payments.

The School Farm
St. Mary's College has a school farm. The farm with cattle and crop enterprises helps in supplying the school with milk and vegetables, hence helping in the balancing of the diet by the students and teachers. On a daily basis, students take milk as supplied by the school cattle. The cattle have a paddock and there is Elephant grass planted on the school land to supplement the grass in the paddocks
The Sickbay
Students' health is given first priority at SMACK. There is a School Nurse all the time to address the health issues of students. The Sickbay has facilities for admission of students and gets Consultant Doctors who check on students' health. Sick students are put on such a diet that can help them to get quick recovery. The students with serious health problems are referred to Kisubi Hospital, which is in the neighbourhood of the school for treatment.
The School Meals
Fred Namonyo Mr. Fred Namonyo is the Chief cook. He is professional and is in charge of the students' meals. Each day has a stipulated menu. The school farm supplies milk and some vegetables to the students' diet. The Students' Menu includes Morning Tea on a daily basis; at Break time, Coffee/Porridge with milk and buns; Boiled Rice and Beans/Rice and Beans/ Posho, Beans and Greens/Sweet Potatoes with Fish in Groundnuts/Pilau, Rice and Beef and Pineapples. There is also Evening Tea. The hygiene standards are extremely high throughout the process of meals' preparation. The students get a balanced diet. Eggs are supplied once a month, while pineapples are supplied twice a month. There is a general dislike for Bananas by the boys, hence features on ceremonial days.
Accommodation
When a student is admitted to SMACK, he is attached to one House. These include Mugwanya, Kiwanuka, Lourdel and Kakooza. All students are resident. The houses normally compete in sports, cleanliness among other aspects. Each house has a colour with which it is identified.
The Canteen
Students have access to the canteen where they are able to buy mostly eats. There are three canteens to help with the students' population.
Barber
the services of a barber are available to help cut the students' hair to enhance smartness and cleanliness.
Extra Curricular
Spots
Athletics, SMACK is blessed with many talented athletes who have the capacity to become not only national, but also international stars. These young stars will certainly break the set records if they are given the necessary equipment.
Rugby, The SMACK Rugby team has a Manager whose target is to see the team's victory all the time. This is a very popular sport with students, and very promising, courtesy of the team manager. Rugby is a rough game, and more often than not, some students sustain injuries in the process of playing, but they never give up. Some four students from SMACK's Rugby team have had opportunity together with students from other schools that are Namilyango, Kabojja S.S, and St. Lawrence Citizen's s. s to travel to Morocco to play Rugby. The team members are waiting for more opportunities to travel.
Soccer A brief survey of the school's Football History reveals that St. Mary's College Kisubi won almost all its matches in the 1950's and 60's. The factors, which made this possible, are among others the devotion of the White Brothers to the sport, the skill and body physique of the boys who were enthusiastic and had a lot of courage. It is also true that the sport was not taken that seriously in many parts of the country as is the case today, where we are having professional footballers who are paid to play for local and foreign teams." Eagle Magazine 1974. The SMACK team emerged winners in an action packed soccer season. In the Entebbe Zonal cup, it was all successes for them as they went through the whole tournament unbeaten.
